    Responsibilities /Responsabilités

    The Manager, Data I/O is responsible for managing the Data I/O department. Data I/O facilitates all digital and physical media deliveries between clients and internal SAN environments and works directly with Operations in Broadcast, Theatrical, VFX, Marketing and Digital Platform Services.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    Planning & Forecasting

    • Continuous Process Improvement by;
      • Personnel utilization.
      • Equipment utilization.
      • Reviews production and admin workflows & procedures with Continuous Process Improvement department.
      • Interacts directly with Client facing personnel to establish scope of data work required.


    Manage and Develop Employees.

    • Maintain department schedule to ensure seamless coverage.
    • Conduct yearly performance reviews.
    • Provide coaching and support for 24-hour team.
    • Supports facility and provide feedback on client requests.
    • Maintain current workflows, while simultaneously working on throughput improvements.


    Storage & System Management.

    • Enforce retention policies; monitor SAN volumes to prolong disk health.
    • Works directly with engineering department to troubleshoot and remedy equipment issues.
    • Identify need for system upgrades and replacements to continually exceed expectations.

    Qualifications / Qualifications

    • 5+ years of post-production experience.
    • Monitor staff performance including performance reviews.   
    • 2+ years of experience manage multiple operators in a fast pace environment.      
    • Ability to delegate work duties to staff to obtain objectives.
    • Minimum 3 years of experience with Linux, Macintosh, and Windows operating Systems.
    • Must be detailed oriented with strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to handle and to prioritize multiple responsibilities.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, must be able to interface with multiple lines of business.
    • Monitor and assist staff with work progress.
    • Hire and train new staff.
