    Responsibilities /Responsabilités

    Coordinates, plans, and manages the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of facility and production equipment, machinery, buildings, and other physical assets to maximize production uptime, initiate cost saving projects, and implement programs to increase department efficiencies and develop accountability standards for technician performance/ranking by performing the following duties:


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    • Manages, schedules, and assigns tasks of multi-shift maintenance personnel engaged in support of facilities and production equipment. Manage the technical staff to engage in efforts to obtain optimum quality, efficiency and productivity of facilities and production equipment.
    • Plans, budgets, and schedules preventive maintenance (PM) activities for production and facilities equipment/assets.
    • Plans, budgets, and schedules production equipment modifications and upgrades including cost estimates, bids, specs, layouts, and service agreements.
    • Plans, budgets, and schedules facilities modifications including cost estimates, bids, layouts, and contracts for construction and acquisitions.
    • Preparation and overall management of operational /technical expenses and capital budgets for assigned facility(s).
    • Planning and scheduling of facilities and maintenance work for assigned facility(s). 
    • Coordination of inspections and safety compliance of all equipment and assigned facility(s). 
    • Maintain Kronos time and attendance of subordinate employees. 
    • Overall management of technical resources supporting assigned facility(s). 
    • Maintenance of current as built drawings and files for all facility structures, systems, equipment, etc.
    • Compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, life safety and building codes.
    • Operation, maintenance, and efficiency management of all operations and facility equipment.
    • Preparation and execution of business interruption contingency and emergency plans for assigned facility(s).
    • Knowledge of systems and equipment related to electrical distribution, lighting, water, natural gas, compressed air, vacuum, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, etc.
    • Partner with and support manufacturing operations on the design, installation, maintenance and operation of equipment.
    • Inspects construction and equipment installation progress to ensure conformance to established specifications.
    • Reviews real estate contracts for compliance with government specifications and suitability for occupancy.
    • Oversee the coordination of building space allocation, layout, and communication services.
    • Manage janitorial, pest control, vending, and any other building repair and service providers for assigned facility(s).
    • Apply advanced tools and techniques to develop procedures for forecasting, organizing, and allocating resources so work is performed efficiently and effectively. (Resource Management).
    • Formulate and present optimal solutions to problems under study, evaluating technical, operational, and economic implications. (Problem Solving)
    • Determine optimal procedures and applications of technologies for the cost-effective use of technologies, tools, equipment, and human resources, work involvement and work performance. (Work Design, Process Measurement, and Evaluation)
    • Must evaluate problems using statistical analysis and study to make recommendations, provide implementation plans, coordinate and assist in solution implementation as needed. (Project Proposal Development)
    • Supports and evaluates the application of existing and emerging technologies to improve operational performance. (Automation Exposure)
    • Must be willing and able to develop, implement and perform effective work methods, performance standards, procedures and training sessions to broaden and improve skills of employees. (Employee Development) Must represent Technicolor in a professional manner with suppliers, vendors, property managers, customers, employees and other departments. Must maintain housekeeping standards.



    • Manages up to three (3) subordinate supervisors and/or Leads who supervise a total of up to 30 Mech/Techs. 
    • Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units.
    • Also, directly supervises 5-10 non-supervisory employees.
    • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
    • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Bachelor's degree (BS or BA) from four-year college or university in Engineering/Technology (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Industrial, Maintenance/Facilities Management or related field), a minimum of five years relevant Engineering/Maintenance/Facilities management experience; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.


    Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts and is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration.  The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
