Responsibilities /Responsabilités

As a Shift Manager your responsibilities will include:

  • Management of Shift Supervisors and up to 200+ associates.
  • Responsible for the scheduling and efficiency of production activities, development of processes and procedures, inventory management, monitoring and reporting of department productivity.
  • Ownership of the overall Safety, Quality, and Productivity of your department.
  • Reviewing work forecasts to determine your productivity requirements to meet the overall goals and objectives of the day.
  • Partnership with other Departmental Managers to ensure the balance of labor and workload are distributed appropriately.
  • Support and champion all safety programs and OSHA compliance to ensure a safe work environment for all employees.
  • Responsible for implementation of future expansions or projects as business growth dictates.
  • Exercise overall responsibility for multi-faceted, multi-shift operation.
  • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives throughout the operation.
  • Coach and Train hourly workforce to be a part of a World Class operations team.
  • Drive excellence in a fast-paced, high demand work environment that includes aggressive deadlines and a high bar for customer promise.
  • Must be able to work various shifts and extensive overtime.


Additional job elements include:

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Regular bending, lifting, stretching and reaching both below the waist and above the head.
  • Walking in the DC and around the building with great frequency – facilities are over a quarter mile in length.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours.
  • Should be able to work in environments with variable noise levels, lighting conditions, and temperature variation.
  • Able to access all areas of the building (ascending and descending stairs/ladders) without limitation.        

Qualifications / Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • A completed Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University.
  • Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
  • Direct management experience for employees and their performance.
  • Experience with performance metrics and process improvement.
  • Candidates must be flexible to work weekends and/or nights.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years management experience in a manufacturing, production, or distribution environment.
  • Management of Supervisors and a minimum of 30 employees (including payroll, performance management, and work-flow assignment).
  • Lean process, Kaizen, Six Sigma, and/or process improvement experience.
  • Interest in long-term career development through assignment in multiple DC’s throughout the Memphis area.
