Responsibilities /Responsabilités

Work with the Director of North American Benefits to provide strategic and operational leadership in the design, development, implementation, communication and administration of all US benefit plans.   Ensures benefit plans are competitive and aligned with Technicolor philosophy, objectives, and market practices.  Ensures programs are developed, approved, reported, and administered in accordance with corporate governance guidelines and applicable laws and regulations.


The Benefits Manager will oversee Technicolor’s US benefits program with a comprehensive approach, partnering with key stakeholders in HR, Payroll, Finance, Legal, Audit and the various professional service providers to identify improvements to the existing program and proactively recommend new and innovative solutions.



  • Supervises daily operations of Benefits staff.
  • Research, analyze and make recommendations for program design improvements and cost effectiveness.  Maintain and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.  Implement plan design changes and enhancements.
  • Manage and negotiate relationships with benefit plan consultants, service providers & TPA, for services, premiums and plan administration.
  • Manage Benefits staff setting objectives, performance goals, and employee development opportunities.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Payroll, IT, and the global HR team to administer and implement programs world-wide.
  • Provide analysis of business issues, cost drivers, and employee needs and preferences.
  • Recommend and implement appropriate corrective action as necessary to ensure quick, equitable, courteous resolution of employee benefit issues/concerns.
  • Oversee reconciliation of all benefits provider billings such as, medical, dental, vision, COBRA, flexible spending accounts, life and long-term disability, and voluntary plans.
  • Serve as plan administrator for the 401(k) including enrollment, compliance testing, audit, and investment review.
  • Participate in benefits surveys and benchmarking as appropriate.
  • Participate in all due diligence and integration for mergers and acquisition initiatives.
  • Create processes and policies to maintain and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations by monitoring and responding to new and emerging benefits legislation, interacting with internal external legal counsel; presenting proposed programs, seeking approval from HR leadership, preparing/maintaining required documents; and educating cross-functional teams and departments regarding issues and implications to ensure compliance.
  • Assist HR leadership in developing strategies by analyzing and understanding pending and proposed legislation related to benefits; advising of the impact of legislation on the company and employees.
  • Manage large scale roll-outs of new programs by preparing estimates of resource requirements; leveraging cross-functional teams; coordinating planning across numerous functions and business units of the Company and externally; identifying and mitigating potential compliance issues; managing and adopting best practices from within and outside; and providing status reports to HR leadership.
  • Ensure business needs are being met by evaluating the ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs, and initiatives; consulting with HR and other key stakeholders; soliciting, and applying suggestions for improving efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Ensure a level of worldwide consistency in relation to Company benefit philosophies, and practices.

Qualifications / Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related area required; 
  • Minimum 7+ years related experience with 3 years at manager level.
  • Experience managing benefit program design and administration.
  • Advanced level knowledge of 401(k), and Defined Benefit Plans.
  • Advanced level knowledge of leave of absence regulations and policies.
  • Experience working in a complex, rapidly growing global organizations, satisfying the needs of diverse constituents, and often working under the pressure of competing and sometimes conflicting priorities.
  • Hands on experience working closely with finance, payroll, legal, internal and external auditors.
  • Experience with enterprise-wide HRMS.  ADP systems a plus.
  • Experience with HR metrics, information and data analysis, impact analysis, cost-benefit analysis and ROI.
