Position Purpose:

 

Lead the HRCC function by providing a full range of Human Resources  services.  The incumbent will be responsible for managing the day-to-day administration of all areas of Human Resources for the US Human Resources Competency Center (HRCC)

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Enhance the organization’s capability to provide staff assistance, guidance, and counseling to the location in the areas of management development, performance appraisals, and succession planning
  • Provide interpretation of company policies and procedures to HR Staff,  management and employees  
  • Provides effective employee communications
  • Partner with HR team on projects and key initiatives as needed
  • Responsible for Employee Relations activities and documentation including counseling, disciplinary actions, grievances, and terminations.  Liaise with outside counsel as necessary.
  • Consolidate data for monthly, annual, semi-annual requests as needed and provide clear analysis on the results
  • Provide guidance in developing and maintaining integrated compensation policies, procedures, and programs (including basic compensation, bonuses, perks, etc.) linking performance and compensation through regular and systematic performance feedback. Conducts and interprets salary survey data, initiates job evaluations and recommends compensation levels that promote internal equity as well as market competitiveness.
  • With thorough attention to organizational goals, structures, and processes, assist managers in managing change effectively to create and maintain an organizational climate that fosters both productivity and satisfaction in work for individuals and groups.
  • Participates in the planning and development of international human resources programs and policies
  • Investigate, manage and resolve moderately complex employee relations and grievance situations.
  • Administers training and development programs in coordination with  Corporate programs.  Assesses training needs and recommends solutions. Track training activities.
  • Coach HR Staff on change initiatives and the impact of the change in their business. 
  • Monitor compliance with employment related legal requirements affecting the human resources function. Provide information on regulations as needed to business unit management.
  • Work across HR functions to deliver value added service to management and employees.  Manage human resource projects, either for human resource department or for business units.
  • Partner with management and employees to foster communications and to address/resolve complex issues further ensuring the continued success of the business     
  • Participate in key HR initiatives that contribute to the improvement of quality, performance and the overall success of achieving business objectives and results   

Qualifications / Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of broad-based HR generalist experience in Compensation, Recruiting, Talent Management, and Organizational Development with at least 3 years working as a Manager to direct reports.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to relate effectively with all levels of the  organization
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience required; MBA preferred
  • Must be an effective team player, but also have the capability of functioning as an individual contributor
  • Strong employee relations background and knowledge of up to date California Employment/Labor laws    
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence others and effectively problem solve.
  • Demonstrated effective listening skills, and the ability manage conflict and work effectively with diverse personalities, cultures and styles.
  • Demonstrated successful project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to network across business units in solving problems to leverage internal knowledge and resources
  • Ability and willingness to travel locally, domestically and internationally
  • General knowledge of HR administration related duties such as payroll processing, leave of absence/FMLA tracking, Workers Comp reporting/tracking required
  • Must be flexible and have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment  
  • Detail and results oriented and strong organization skills and the ability to handle a high volume of work.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft applications required: Word, Excel and PowerPoint
