Responsibilities /Responsabilités

Responsibilities will focus on qualification of Technicolor Cable BB Gateway Products to include DOCSIS gateway products, wireless products, and hybrids from these areas:

 

  • DOCSIS 3.0/ DOCSIS 3.1 and VoIP,SIP, MGCP applications testing using a CPE device.
  • Review product requirements, functional specifications, standards documents (RFCs and specs). Design, write and execute test plans to validate VoIP application functionality.
  • Own and maintain the test infrastructure including design and configuration of TCP/IP networks including routers/switches/CMTS, SIP servers, and other monitoring and testing equipment.
  • Own automation framework and develop automation scripts to validate protocol compliance, interoperability, voice path validation and feature behavior.
  • Perform and analyze network packet captures to troubleshoot protocol and voice quality issues.
  • Leading and managing offshore engineering sites and personnel, including Test Planning, managing test execution, Test reporting and Defect prioritization.

Qualifications / Qualifications

  • BS in technical or engineering field (or equivalent) is required, Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 10+ years working as test engineer or field engineer with DOCSIS and VoIP.
  • Deep understanding of VoIP protocols and ability to read and troubleshoot call flows involving SIP, MGCP & RTP.
  • Hands-on experience working with, configuring, and troubleshooting routers, switches, & CMTS.
  • Hands-on experience working with, configuring, and troubleshooting VoIP Call Agents, SIP Proxy and IMS Core.
  • Hands-on experience using packet capture tools and analyze call flows and RTP.
  • Have the ability to lead/manage/mentor small engineering teams.
  • Experience working with remote offshore engineering sites and personnel. 
  • Experience designing and performing load, stress and performance testing including Bulk Call Generators.
  • Hands-on experience and expertise is developing scripts using TCL, VBscript, Python, or similar scripting language.
  • Hands-on experience with Voice automation tools.
  • CCNP/CCIE certification is not required but is a plus.
  • Team communication and leadership.
  • IP Network Infrastructure Design.
  • VoIP Network Design.
  • VoIP Network Configuration.
  • DOCSIS 3.0 and 3.1
  • DOCSIS 3.1/DOCSIS 3.0 testing with CMTS.
  • PC 1.5/PC 2.0 with IMS and/or Voice Servers like BTS10200/Asterisk.
  • VOIP experience testing and troubleshooting with SIP protocol, and MGCP protocol.
  • Advanced knowledge on configuring CMTS/IMS/Voice servers to run tests.
  • Advanced experience with test tooling: Wireshark, RFSniffer.
  • Hands on experience with IP routers/gateways and IP networks in general.
  • An understanding of network protocol and technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP, multicast IP, IGMP, Wi-Fi 802.11ac/ax) is required.
  • Affinity with programming (C, C++, Java,...) or scripting (Python, TCL,...) and knowledge of Linux OS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of gateways, agile methodologies, cloud.
  • Experience with tools/skills – HVAC, Internet, ITIL methodology, cameras, 4G, LTE, IPv4/IPv6, VOIP/Wi-Fi, LAN, performance engineering, familiar with simulators like DOCSIS, MoCA. SiLK Suite testing scripting/automation.
