Responsibilities /Responsabilités

  • Contribute to SW testing best practices, stay up-to-date with test architecture that are relevant to the company’s product line and facilitate their implementation.
  • Design and implement test infrastructure to validate industry standard, customer and internal requirements.
  • Maintain and enhance Continuous Integration and Test Automation framework.
  • Collaborate with local and global teams to expand coverage of functional, performance, stability and stress testing.
  • Leverage existing test solutions to validate generic and customer-specific features of Telco and Cable platforms, including Router, Gateway, Cable modem, Set Top Box and peripheral.
  • Own end-to-end customer deliveries validation. This includes test plan design, execution, test evolution to adaption to customer requirements and acceptance plans.
  • Seek opportunities to improve efficiency, understand how customers validate key domain features and drive right investments that meet customer expectations and ensure lower TCO to the company.
  • Lead a team of offshore Test Engineers involved in product testing. Provide guidance, manage and track effort, mentor and ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.  
  • Define and track overall compliance to test strategies and criteria.
  • Work with SW development team to create test platforms that ensures SW deliveries are accurately and completely validated.
  • Investigate, track and validate defect reports.
  • Ensure consistent quality and timeliness of all test deliverables.
  • Facilitate learning and knowledge transfer to ensure that deployed solutions are current, add value to the company and are relevant in the industry. This includes articulating technologies to customers and peers in diverse locations.
  • Research, collect, and report information on the ability and capacity of company products and competitive advantage.
  • Act as main contact to Customer Technical Support team, which may require presence in customer's lab.
  • Participate in design reviews focused on specific product domain. 
  • Document and maintain all architectural designs, developments and implementations.
  • Periodically communicate to Client and System Test (CaST) organization stakeholders (Team Leader, Test Manager, SW Lead, Project/Program Manager, Customer representatives, Corporate Management, etc.) on test activities status. This includes: test plan reports, bug status and impact, timeline, risks.

Qualifications / Qualifications

Required

  • BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • 3 or more years of Embedded Software QA and Test Automation experience.
  • Knowledge of WAN access technologies such as xDSL, DOCSIS, FTTx and/or LTE. 
  • Understanding of network protocols, including TCP/IP, IGMP, UPnP.
  • Working knowledge with at least 2 scripting languages - Python, Perl, Bash, Shell, Ruby, Java Script.
  • Knowledge of Linux OS.
  • Hands on experience with IP routers/gateways and IP networks in general.

 

Desired

  • Strong debugging and root cause analysis skills.
  • Self-starter, detail oriented, with drive to focus and deliver results quickly. 
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) skills, takes initiatives and acts on opportunities.
  • Interested in going beyond current knowledge and scope.
  • Knowledge of test tools used to validate packet forwarding, Voice, Wi-Fi, DOCSIS, LTE, DSL is an advantage. 
  • Knowledge of gateways, agile methodologies, cloud technologies is a plus.
