Responsibilities /Responsabilités

A Project Sourcing Manager drives and coordinates all Connected Home Sourcing deliverables for the New Product Introduction (NPI) project which is driven by the Early to Market Core team.  The PSM will manage the cost all along the product life cycle, inclusive of whether it is an In-House development or an outsourced (ODM) project.  The PSM collaborates across the Sourcing organization and the Core Team to ensure that our new products have the most technologically advanced, highest quality and lowest cost components available to secure the fast time to market and to also meet the product profitability targets.

 

  • Ability to negotiate and influence internal stakeholders is critical.
  • Ability to anticipate upcoming issues to improve decision making of the team.
  • Escalates any issues when needed including supplier risks with recommendation for decision making to the Sourcing Management.
  • Challenges industrial sourcing, global commodity managers and component engineers to improve product cost, reliability and performance.
  • Oversees providing all inputs allowing product delivery commitment to the core team.
  • Provides relevant project cost input for phase review meetings as required
  • Inform the Core team to secure material on time for prototypes when necessary at the early stage of the development
  • Tracks and manages part approvals with component engineering, global commodity managers/buyers, hardware project leader, and ensuring accuracy of these components within our product lifecycle management tool.

Qualifications / Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

 Job Requirement & Qualifications:

  • Preferably three plus years’ experience in electrical engineering and procurement including purchasing or sourcing.
  • One year of project management experience would be preferred or a strong leadership personality and presence.
  • Highly organized and able to work with multiple deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and able to handle large amounts of spreadsheet data for analysis.
  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint presentation and communication skills.
  • Professional in attitude and represents Sourcing in an articulate, competent and knowledgeable manner.
  • Ability to focus on key objectives and gain cross-functional support within Sourcing to resolve project escalations as required.
