Responsibilities /Responsabilités

The Engineer, Media Systems is responsible for the design and testing of workflows and troubleshooting related issues.



  • Design test plan from the workflow request.
  • Resolve workflow queries from production.
  • Design & test workflows, document steps.
  • Provide technical expertise as required to others.
  • Create tutorial of workflow suitable for production use.
  • Proactively investigate new technologies.
  • Maintain order and all internal docs required by File Lab (SOPs).
  • Perform ad hoc testing (last minute) to support.
  • Provides tested workflows for the File Lab production.
  • Provide clearinghouse for technical info between various BU and departments, improving knowledge transfer.
  • Provide organized, scientific test methodology for new workflows.
  • Serves as an internal resource for LOBs.

Qualifications / Qualifications

  • Technical or Bachelor’s degree in appropriate field.
  • 3 years or more of Media Engineering experience in Post-Production.
  • Fluent with video/audio transcoding/signal processing.
  • Physical ability to accurately QC audiovisual material.
  • Experience with digital file processing systems such as Rhozet Carbon Copy, Digital Rapids Streamz, Final Cut professional, Colorfront (transkoder/OSD), Amberfin, Vantage, Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with workflow automation through use of existing tools (e.g. Signiant, Aspera, )
  • Ability to work with and understand simple code writing scripts.
  • Strong working knowledge of video/audio post-production.
  • Self-directed, ability to work cohesively with a team of divergent specialties.
  • Fluent in basic Windows/Mac/Linux OS, common office programs, common production applications.
  • High degree of rigor and accuracy required in observation and documentation.
