Responsibilities /Responsabilités

The English Editor, Subtitling is responsible for create and coordinate English subtitling files for multi-platform distribution.



  • Originate, reformat and QC all English based templates including but not limited to closed caption, SDH and ESL files as well.
  • Import, manipulate and ensure transcribed files are error free and meet industry standards as well as unique client specifications.
  • Ensure quality and consistency of grammar, spelling, punctuation, and the representation of intended meanings.
  • Ensure the seamless integration of key operational activities in a localization environment, including but not limited to tracking & scheduling, quality control, final preparations and deliverables.
  • Manage tight deadlines, scheduling and integrating technology effectively while communicating with project coordinators, subtitle operators and a global network of vendors and contractors.
  • Ensure internal communication and coordination of projects is of the highest quality and is achieved through efficient use of centralized databases, style & procedure intranets, and other tools as provided.
  • Other duties as required as the business unit’s growing needs and requirements evolve.

Qualifications / Qualifications

  • Ability to deliver top-rated, accurate product under compressed deadlines.
  • Must have a great command of the written English language, strong writing and exceptional grammatical skills.
  • Must be detail-orientated and able to juggle multiple priorities and problem solve proactively.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Extensive experience in all aspects of subtitling and captioning processes as well as in-depth technical knowledge of theatrical, streaming and DVD subtitle scheduling and production workflows.
  • Must be proficient with subtitling software’s – Sfera, WinCaps, Swift, EZ Titles, MacCaption, emerging digital technologies and the general post-production industry.
  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.  Ability to work within diverse internal teams, coordinate projects, and flexible to work extended hours and/or weekends to meet project deadlines.



  • 3-4 years’ experience working with clients in the entertainment industry; traditional post production background helpful.



  • BA or BS degree preferred. All education and experience welcomed.
