Responsibilities /Responsabilités

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contributes to validation best practices, including (but not limited to): Keep up to date with test equipment available on the market, understands how customers validate key feature domains, helps Telco BB CaST Lab Managers do the right investments and build optimized setups.
  • Manage CI and Test Automation environment: Integrate, develop and enhance new generic functionality on existing test automation framework
  • Acts as technical support to CTS community which may require presence in customer's lab.
  • Work with local and global teams when required to automate functional, performance and stability testing
  • Design test solution from customer and internal requirement specification
  • Create test setup to validate customer requirements
  • Ensure consistent quality in all published test deliverables
  • Research new framework and methodologies to improve test coverage and efficiency
  • Collaborate with other teams within Client and System Test (CaST) organization
  • Improve overall product quality
  • Participate in a small, experienced, energetic team

Key responsibilities:

  • Owns Customer's deliveries verification, more specifically Lab network architecture to simulate customer environments.
  • Test plan creation and evolutions to cover customer acceptance plans and customer scenarios.
  • Test plans executions, optimizing build quality and coverage by the agreed delivery date versus effort.
  • Investigation, tracking and fix verification of customer identified tickets and CaST internally identified bugs
  • Provide general Test development support as part of a cross functional team
  • Designs and architects Test infrastructure to validate internal and external product requirements
  • Understands and articulates technologies to customers and other Test Engineers
  • Identifies changing requirements and recommends solutions
  • Design and execute test procedure to validate customer requirement, defects and use case scenarios
  • Generate documentation for all CI and Test automation modules developed
  • Researches, collects, and reports information on the ability and capacity of company products and competing equipment.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, debugs, and modifies software/system enhancements and/or new products used in local, networked, or Internet-related computer programs
  • Communicates to CaST stakeholders (SW, PjL, PgM, customer representatives, management) on CaST activities status through means of e.g. PRB meetings (global or project), ARR's, weekly meetings, written reports, etc. This includes, but not limited to: test plan reports, bug technical details and their impact, timeline, risks.
  • Work with offshore teams and sometimes technology domain experts to meet deliverable targets
  • Contributes to overall Telco BB CaST organization way of working.

Qualifications / Qualifications

The candidate should have 2+ years minimum experience in Software QA and Test Automation.  An understanding of network protocol and technologies (Ethernet, TCP/IP, multicast IP, IGMP, xDSL, LTE etc.) is required. Experience with scripting language (Python, Shell script) and knowledge of Linux OS is preferred.  . Knowledge of test tools (Voice, Wi-Fi, DSLAM, Protocol Analyzer, Home Gateway, UPnP/DLNA) is an advantage.

  • BS/MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
  • Self-starter, detail oriented, with drive to focus and deliver results quickly. 
  • Team player with strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal) skills, takes initiatives and acts on opportunities
  • Interested in going beyond current knowledge and scope
  • Hands on experience with IP routers/gateways and IP networks in general
  • Any experience with following test tooling is a plus: Wireshark, Spirent TestCenter, Ixia IxLoad, Ixia Chariot, Veriwave, LTE simulator, DSLAM
  • Earlier experiences in the field of hands-on embedded software and telecommunications testing shall be considered as an advantage. 
  • Knowledge of gateways, agile methodologies, cloud technologies is a plus
