Responsibilities /Responsabilités

POSITION SUMMARY:
As a Wireless Technologist on the Technicolor Connected Home CTO team, you will contribute to the evaluation, integration and product development of next generation network services, systems, architectures including technologies for the wireless and cable industries. Your responsibilities include evaluating next generation IoT concepts, cloud architectures, new products, 5G opportunities and virtualization technologies.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Research and analyze key business drivers, competitive environment, opportunities, & trends
  • Analyze and diagnose complex networking problems
  • Evaluate complex network designs, technology and solutions 
  • Propose technical solutions noting benefits and differentiators for evaluated solutions.
  • Align with internal and external stakeholders
  • Document and diagram technical proposals and architectures
  • Communicate technical proposals - delivering white papers and presentations

Qualifications / Qualifications

  • 10+ years hands-on software development and/or solutions architect experience
  • Experience evaluating software, best practices, managed service offerings, frameworks, NFV/SDN virtualization 
  • Experience in OpenStack or other PaaS scalable cloud applications
  • Experience developing and/or integrating connected devices
  • Experience in multiple network architectures LAN, WAN, Mobile, Cable
  • Ability to document and diagram technical systems and architectures 
  • Must possess strong technical account management skills
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Creative problem solver, motivated, comfortable with challenging the status quo 
  • Work with peers in a fast-paced, high-impact environment to meet business unit commitments
  • Broad edge-to-core experience.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Full product life cycle experience 
  • IP data networking experience in UMTS/LTE core/edge access in addition to the radio side.
  • Expert level knowledge in following areas: IP internetworking, LAN Switching, Voice technologies, IP Telephony, IP Routing protocols (IGRP, OSPF, EIGRP, BGP).
  • Working knowledge of GPRS/UMTS/LTE core network architectures.
  • Working knowledge of W-Fi network architectures and Wi-Fi Access technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Wi-Fi Alliance and 802.11 specifications. 
  • Expert level internetworking troubleshooting in a large-scale network environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of network management, network availability and capacity planning.

 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
