Responsibilities /Responsabilités

Position Overview

  • Responsible for all tactical and strategic elements of commodity management for assigned Non-Production commodities, including strategic understanding of supplier markets, supplier selection, sourcing process management, price control/negotiations and sustaining supplier management.
  • Responsible for management and development of Non-Production sourcing plans, strategic supplier relationships, performance, risk and financial results.
  • Responsible to meet Home Entertainment Services (HES) savings goals, as well as corporate goals related to savings and other financial metrics.
  • Build, maintain and enhance solid relationships with HES Operations leadership and business unit stakeholders, understanding their needs and developing/executing strategies that align with those needs.
  • Negotiate consistent and business-relevant key metrics into supplier agreements. Allowing for performance analysis against service-level agreements (SLAs) and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders and provide sourcing strategy advice to best meet the needs and objectives of the business.
  • Implement a supplier rationalization strategy on the existing supplier base to drive economies of scale.
  • Cultivate new business relationships with potential suppliers as necessary, and continuously seek to identify new opportunities for supplier optimization in support of business objectives.
  • Support the development of new processes and procedures with focus on continual efficiency improvement within the organization.


Responsibilities of the Position

  • Lead, develop and maintain effective working relationships with assigned suppliers and internal support partners through daily interaction and scheduled meetings/calls. 
  • Frequently update internal savings reporting databases, to accurately reflect sourcing related benefits.
  • Enlist supplier involvement in developing joint process improvements/solutions to reduce costs.
  • Act as a point of accountability for escalation and arbitration for strategic supplier partner relationship issues.
  • Manage financial implications against savings budget requirements.
  • Benchmark and understand the market conditions of commodities to be sourced.
  • Represent the business in negotiating strategic initiatives with suppliers. 
  • Ensure timely contract administration as a partner to the HES leadership team.

Qualifications / Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Engineering, Supply Chain OR 8-10 years’ experience in a Strategic Sourcing position, preferably in the Indirect Sourcing area.
  • Experience in monitoring the effectiveness of established service level agreements to manage customer expectations and quality standards, and negotiating and developing new service level agreements in response to changing needs.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at multiple levels within the enterprise, in an environment with shared authority over supplier relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, presentation skills and interpersonal skills to interact with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Highly organized with strong time management skills, able to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, and work independently within deadlines.
  • Capability to read and understand complex service contracts and manage the relationship in accordance to the terms of agreement.
  • Experience interacting with senior leadership, demonstrating an executive presence.
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, negotiating and critical thinking skills.
  • A history of building strong relationships both internally and externally.
  • Must be proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint.


Preferred Requirements

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Strategic Sourcing Leadership experience is a plus.
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) a plus.
